Best Beach Hotels in Senegal: 2026 Guide
From Saly to Cap Skirring via Mbour, our guide to the best beach hotels in Senegal, by region, mood and FCFA budget.
Best Beach Hotels in Senegal
With more than 500 km of Atlantic coastline, Senegal is a leading seaside destination. From the Petite Côte to Casamance, here's our guide to the best areas to book a hotel right by the water.
Saly, the beach capital
Saly Portudal, about 80 km south of Dakar, is the country's most developed beach resort town. It has the highest concentration of hotels, resorts and clubs, with landscaped beaches, pools, water sports and nightlife. Options range from a simple hotel (25,000–45,000 FCFA a night) to an all-inclusive resort (60,000–150,000 FCFA a night and up). It's the ideal choice for a first beach trip in Senegal, easy to reach from Diass airport.
Mbour and the Petite Côte
Right next to Saly, Mbour is a large fishing town extending the Petite Côte. You'll find more authentic and often more affordable hotels here, plus long beaches and a lively fish market. Nearby villages like Nianing or Warang host quieter, more intimate spots, perfect for resting. Expect 20,000 to 70,000 FCFA a night depending on standard.
Cap Skirring, the Casamance gem
Down south, in Casamance, Cap Skirring offers some of West Africa's most beautiful beaches: white sand, coconut palms, calm waters and an unspoiled feel. The greener, more remote region appeals to travelers seeking nature and authenticity. You'll find charming lodges as well as upscale hotels (30,000–120,000 FCFA a night). Access is via a domestic flight to Ziguinchor or Cap Skirring, or by road and boat.
Around Dakar
To stay near the capital, the beaches of Ngor, Les Almadies and Ngor Island offer seafront lodging, as does La Somone and its lagoon, halfway to Saly. Convenient for a weekend without too much driving.
